Across the globe manufacturing and manufacturing related systems (e.g. the distribution and sales channels for goods produced) are the cornerstone of economic prosperity. Our optimal use of resources and materials is a critical success factor for current and future generations.
We are bridging a mass industrial legacy, a sustainable production evolution, and a futuristic "how will this work in real life" ambiguity. Customers and communities wanting to engage in product design are demanding manufacturing as a service - marketing yippee with production front YIKES (continuous spec revisions)! Now there's a new effort to re-tag everything with NGIP (alert inventory control...). Oh yes, products still need to be produced high quality, on time and profitably.
